Based in The Hub at James McGuire. Social Blend is our Community based Coffee Shop & Gift Shop. The main aim and mission of Social Blend is to provide our members the opportunity to learn and develop skills involved in working in the Retail & Hospitality Settings. For many people with a disability or an additional support need, there is a lack of opportunities for employment. Many people will receive interviews but due to a lack of prior training, they are unlikely to secure employment.

Social Blend acts as a training platform for our members who are looking to venture into employment. Through our Training Programme they will learn key skill like: Foot & Drink Preparation, EPOS Till Use, Stock Takes and Customer Service. These skills are taught by our Coffee Shop & Gift Shop Facilitators who have experience of the Retail & Hospitality sectors.

You can Support Social Blend by popping in for a Coffee, Panini or Cake. You can also visit the Gift Shop which gives local crafters a place to show their wares and sell them, everything from Jewellery to Comic Art to Steampunk Furniture! There is something for everyone!
